Our commitment

The Narrow Way is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who browse with screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, or other assistive technology. Bookkeeping is a service built on trust and clarity, and that should extend to how our website treats every visitor.

Standard we work toward

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the standard most commonly referenced in relation to the Americans with Disabilities Act. This site has been tested against that standard using automated tooling (axe-core) together with manual keyboard and contrast checks.

What has been implemented

  • Descriptive alternative text on all meaningful images, with decorative images hidden from assistive technology
  • Full keyboard operability, with a visible focus indicator on every interactive element
  • A skip-to-content link as the first item in the tab order
  • Text and interface colours meeting or exceeding WCAG AA contrast ratios
  • Pinch-zoom and text resizing left enabled on mobile devices
  • Programmatic labels on every form field, with errors announced to screen readers
  • A logical heading structure with no skipped levels
  • Semantic landmarks so screen reader users can navigate by region
  • Reduced-motion support that respects your operating system preference

Known limitations and honesty about scope

Automated testing catches only part of what matters. This site has not yet been tested with real screen reader software by assistive technology users, and it has not undergone a third-party accessibility audit. We describe this site as actively working toward WCAG 2.1 AA rather than certified as compliant, because accessibility is an ongoing practice rather than a finished state.

Tell us if something does not work

If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, please tell us. We treat accessibility problems as real problems and will respond within one business day. If you cannot use the contact form, email or phone works equally well — and if the website itself is the barrier, we are glad to handle your entire enquiry by phone.
